A Season Between Showers

The senior season is now in full swing, even amid a few rain-affected weekends, with our sides competing across MCC Club XI (three teams) and Cricket Southern Bayside (one team).

The season opened on a positive note, with strong wins for both the Firsts and Seconds.
In the First XI, Raf Epstein led the scoring with 77, supported by Jono Weinstock (36), helping set a total of 185. Wesley were dismissed for 159, with 4 wickets to Amir Meyerowitz sealing the match.

The Seconds restricted MCC to 132, thanks to 4 wickets from Avi Segman, before a composed chase was steered home by Shmuli Rosenbaum with 77 off 104.

The Third XI showed plenty of fight, but were unable to close out Old Camberwell, who recovered late in their innings to post an unreachable total. The Fourth XI went down to Heatherton despite taking early wickets.

A challenging week followed, with a few close contests not falling our way. Amir Meyerowitz continued his strong form, finishing unbeaten on 68 for the First XI. The most recent round was washed out across the board, so the Firsts, Seconds and Thirds head into Round 5 this week, while the Fourths move into Round 6.
